Weather Coconut
The Weather Coconut
This is a fun idea from: http://games.greenghoulie.com/camp_fun.htm#The%20Weather%20Coconut who borrowed it from some other place and so on...
Design:
Dangle a stump, coconut or any other selected item from a rope on a 4 feet tall tripod and then lean on the leg of the tripod was a sign that reads Weather "(insert your chosen object)" followed with instructions on how to operate the weather tool.

To build the mystery, the author writes:
All meteorologists know the special weather-predicting abilities of the coconut, but this important information rarely reaches the public. After consulting with many in the weather-field and attending a secret meteorological ceremony in the heart of a volcano (they don't mess around), I was told about the mysteriously wonderful properties of the coconut.
Here are some rules to include on the board:
INSTRUCTIONS: Do Not Touch
That's it now, build your own Weather Stump and send me a pic.
I think I am going into the garage to see what to make my own...a "weather globe" perhaps.
Google … again
On some level, I find myself curious what types of people share my same name. Of course when Google first became a sensation, a viral activity to "google" your own name sprouted. Being the "wannabe" tech geek, I tried it and found fascinating results. http://www.dixiesroadtrip.com/wordpress/?p=201.
Now, with Google Alerts, I get these updates delivered to me by email as they happen. More often than not, it picks up my blog posts from the work blog or other small items but occasionally it picks up something more meaty in substance. Then, I am equally fascinated with the results especially when someone with my same name has an interest that dove tails my own.
Like this recent one:

about planning
I keep this picture on my desk. It's been there for more than 10 years. I keep it to remind me that no matter how hard you might plan something, there are always the real experts to keep in mind because no one can be an expert about the real needs of another person.
I like the daily reminder.
