I just need time to really build some foundation and structure around this process and my ideas.

For me this is a strongly private issue. Like most, I'd rather not have something so deeply personal splashed around with such vitriol, or argued by my elected officials or debated by religion about what is right or just. For me it's no one business but those I love and care about. I'm not looking over your fence or peeking in your windows. I expect the same courtesies. Glass house my friends. I am not denying your freedoms. Don't deny me my own. But, alas, that is not our world and because my message is personal it does not have the weight of objectiveness and therefore is lost on those who object.

I saw this video posted around the interwebs lately and I think it's a "key message", a "sound bite" that has some merit and hopefully some chance of reaching more fearful and confused minds. Representative Steve Simon, I applaud your bravery, your impassioned words and I thank you for being a voice of reason in an unreasonable dialogue.

Dallas Zoo May 7, 2011

For May's DFW Family Nature Club we visited the Dallas Zoo.

See the full Gallery: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjuHpLYG

It was a beautiful day to be hanging out with the wildlife at the zoo and the animals where fun to visit too.

Our club is still only with its founding families but hopefully with the addition of the Facebook page that we will have some opportunities to share nature with more of our friends soon. Sometimes I am silly and I grumble about the Saturday morning commitment but I forget it all and love the time I get to spend with my family, and with Everett, Emory, Monica and Deona.

This month we were joined by Grampy, Ev and Em's grandfather. But, Zoe borrowed Grampy for the day. I guess it's good that Grandpa and Grandma C are finally back. Today at Lunch Zoe pulled me aside and said she wasn't going to tell Gandpa C she had a Grampy for the day. I took it as a warning that I shouldn't mention it either.

I am looking forward to Grandbury Lake next month and a little overnight get away on the beach.

After months of trying to fix a coding error and a few of ignoring the problem and a few of just forgetting to pay attention at all to the site, I have finally spent some time this weekend on updating and correcting the issue so it works again. Frankly, I was tired of staring at the May post too and the constant buzz of words in my head going nowhere. It was a reminder of my lack of attention to writing. Therefore, I am happy to announce:

DixiesRoadTrip.com is now back.

My livescribe stuff is up to date. I have months of written stuff to add to the site to finalize the full update, but it's a good start.

Hopefully, crossing fingers, I will be back to writing more often again. I miss crafting words.

What do you wish you were doing more of these days?

This one on my left upper arm started out as just the Dolphin. It was my first tattoo in July 1996. This week, I added to it:

I plan to add more to it in the future, making it into a sleeve style.
